This meeting is part of a citizen communication policy promoted to directly listen to various voices of citizens by having the mayor visit the youth in eup, myeon, and dong areas who have relatively fewer opportunities to participate in city administration, share current administrative issues, answer questions, deliver various news about city administration, propose improvements for daily inconveniences, and suggest local issues and development plans for city administration, and to promptly address matters that can be resolved.

During the meeting, discussions were held on various topics such as job creation issues and cultural and welfare policies. Yeoju City focused on sharing the realistic difficulties faced by young people and seeking ways to solve them.

The attending youth presented various opinions, including requests for support for secondary processing facilities and equipment for local agricultural products, expansion of market development projects for agricultural products produced by young people, establishment of a large indoor playground facility, increased benefits for female farmer helpers, and installation of traffic safety facilities in Taepyeong-ri downtown. Yeoju City stated that it would cooperate with the relevant departments to prepare practical policy improvement measures in response.

Mayor Lee Chung-woo said, “It is important to listen to the diverse opinions of young people and prepare realistic support measures,” adding, “We will continue to actively communicate with the youth and create practical changes.”

Meanwhile, starting with the communication meeting with the youth of Ganam-eup, Yeoju City plans to steadily continue citizen communication meetings visiting youth in each eup, myeon, and dong, apartment resident meetings, and communication meetings with high school students by school until December this year.
