Kakao Mobility and KTis Sign MOU
114 Call Agents to Dispatch Taxis via Kakao T Platform
"We Will Do Our Best to Bridge the Digital Divide"
Kakao Mobility announced on the 10th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with KTis to provide the '114 Taxi Calling Service' and will begin supporting mobility for digitally vulnerable groups.
Through this MOU, both companies plan to strengthen platform accessibility for users who have difficulty using taxi apps, including seniors, and work to expand digital inclusion.

On the 7th, Kakao Mobility and KTis held a signing ceremony at Kakao Mobility’s headquarters in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, attended by key executives including Ahn Gyu-jin, Vice President of Kakao Mobility’s Business Division, and Park Woo-sik, Head of Marketing at KTis. Kakao Mobility will build a web-based calling system to improve convenience for 114 call center agents when dispatching taxis, while KTis plans to continuously enhance the service to enable smooth communication between customers and call agents.
The '114 Taxi Calling Service' began a pilot operation in September last year. When customers call 02-114 and provide their departure and destination information, a 114 call agent dispatches a taxi on their behalf through the Kakao T platform. After the taxi is assigned, the customer is informed of the vehicle number and estimated arrival time to help them board the dispatched taxi.
Through this service, the two companies have supported digitally vulnerable groups such as the elderly, people with disabilities, and low-income individuals who are not familiar with smartphone use, enabling them to conveniently use taxi calling services.
The operating hours of the 114 Taxi Calling Service are from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM on weekdays. Currently, the service is available only when both the departure and destination are within Seoul, but the service area will gradually expand within this year.
Ahn Gyu-jin, Vice President of Kakao Mobility’s Business Division, said, "We hope this agreement will be part of a win-win effort to enhance mobility convenience for digitally vulnerable groups in the mobility sector. As a leading domestic mobility platform company, we plan to fulfill our corporate social responsibility by contributing to closing the digital gap for the silver generation and others who face difficulties using the platform."
Park Woo-sik, Head of Marketing at KTis, stated, "The 114 information service has recently launched a national health checkup reservation agency service and has been making various efforts for seniors and digitally vulnerable groups. This agreement with Kakao Mobility is also part of those efforts, and we plan to expand cooperation into various fields going forward."
