Democratic Party Supreme Council Meeting on the 10th
Lee: "The prosecution is lenient only toward Yoon... Are they in cahoots?"
Park Chan-dae also urges Prosecutor General Shim Woo-jung to resign

Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized the prosecution for not appealing the court's decision to release President Yoon Seok-yeol, saying, "I suspect that the prosecution is not only fundamentally complicit in the act of rebellion but also engaged in a major mission."

At the Democratic Party's Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly in Yeouido on the 10th, Lee said, "The prosecution, which should be the last bastion of maintaining order in our country, released the ringleader of the rebellion through a bizarre trick."

Lee added, "The release of President Yoon Seok-yeol has made the entire nation anxious, and the economy is unstable, causing the exchange rate to soar and stock prices to plummet," and said, "It is hard to understand for whom this is being done."

He questioned, "I cannot agree with such a method of calculating the detention period, and the prosecution, which used to appeal and file complaints even in cases of acquittal, why is it so lenient only toward President Yoon?" and added, "Isn't it because they are in cahoots?"

He continued, "Nevertheless, the great people of the Republic of Korea have always wisely overcome crises created by vested interests," and added, "The Revolution of Light will also overcome this reaction and surely win, with the Democratic Party standing at the forefront."

Park Chan-dae, the floor leader, also continued his criticism of the prosecution at the meeting that day. Park said, "Prosecutor General Shim Woo-jung, who is responsible for aiding evidence destruction and harboring criminals, should resign immediately."

Park said, "Regarding the problems of the first trial court, the prosecution has the authority to immediately appeal and correct it in a higher court, but the prosecution has voluntarily given up that authority," and added, "The concern over evidence destruction, which is a major reason for detention, still exists, so by not appealing the cancellation of detention, did they not give an opportunity for evidence destruction?"

He emphasized, "If they have any shame, they should resign and apologize on their own," and said, "If they have a conscience, they should not act disgracefully and resign immediately."
