Until the 20th...
Preventing Safety Accidents and Fostering a Marine Leisure Culture
Jeju Special Self-Governing Province is promoting a support project for operating educational programs aimed at expanding the base of marine leisure sports. The province is inviting organizations to apply for operating these educational programs in order to provide safe and enjoyable marine leisure experiences to residents, students, and tourists.
Jeju has seen a steady increase in domestic and international participants in marine leisure activities, thanks to its exceptional natural environment and abundant marine leisure resources. To prevent marine leisure safety accidents and to spread a culture where various marine leisure sports can be enjoyed, this project was established. Organizations that provide preliminary safety education and hands-on experience will be selected first.
To vitalize marine leisure, Jeju is recruiting non-profit corporations or organizations currently active in this field as operators until the 20th. The selected operators will run experiential and educational courses such as water activities, water leisure, and survival swimming. Participants will learn basic safety rules and techniques for water activities through a combination of theoretical and practical training.
Oh Sangpil, Director of the Jeju Provincial Department of Oceans and Fisheries, said, "We will continue to provide education and experiential opportunities related to marine leisure sports so that these activities can become even more popular in Jeju."
