Hanyang High-Tech announced on the 10th that it has developed the 'Smart Double-Lock Leak Detection Polyethylene Coated Steel Pipe' equipped with real-time leak detection functionality based on the Internet of Things (IoT).
The leak detection polyethylene coated steel pipe integrates ICT technology into the pipe fittings without the need for separate communication lines or power lines for leak detection. Using a double-sealed watertight structure in the fittings, leak blocking is achieved in two stages.
Hanyang High-Tech plans to exhibit this product at the 2025 International Water Industry Expo, which will be held at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, starting from the 19th.
Kim Nam-jae, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Hanyang High-Tech, emphasized, "By predicting water pipe leaks, sinkholes can be prevented, and since there are no additional construction or maintenance costs for leak detection, the economic efficiency is very high."
