Contains Accounting and Tax Information

Samil PwC announced on the 10th that it has published the Vietnam edition of the "Southeast Asia Business Guidebook," which contains information on the business environment, tax, and accounting in the Southeast Asian region.

Samil PwC Publishes 'Southeast Asia Business Guidebook' Vietnam Edition

This Vietnam edition is composed of sections including ▲Vietnam's current status and overview ▲Vietnam's investment attractiveness ▲Vietnam business environment ▲Key tax issues in Vietnam ▲Key accounting issues in Vietnam. Among these, the key tax issues section provides detailed information on corporate tax, transfer pricing, foreign contractor tax, capital gains tax on equity transfers, value-added tax, personal income tax, tax incentives and audits, and legislative trends on the global minimum tax. The key accounting issues section summarizes the accounting environment, major differences in accounting standards compared to Korea, plans and status of adopting International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and more.

According to the guidebook, Vietnam is gaining attention as an alternative production base for a stable global value chain based on its geographical proximity to major manufacturing countries such as Korea, China, and Japan, political and economic stability, open trade environment, and foreign investment attraction policies. Currently, more than 3,600 Korean companies, including Samsung Electronics, have entered Vietnam, accounting for over 30% of Korean companies operating overseas.

Lee Mu-yeol, Director of Samil PwC Southeast Asia Business Platform, said, "We have organized the key information in an easy-to-understand manner so that companies currently conducting business related to Vietnam or planning to enter Vietnam can quickly grasp the main points, based on the core knowledge acquired through advisory work during assignments in Vietnam and upon returning."

Samil PwC plans to release guidebooks containing key information on neighboring countries such as Cambodia and Laos to support Korean companies interested in expanding into Southeast Asian countries in the future.

Detailed information about the guidebook can be found on the Samil PwC website.
