Foreign Customer Sales at Jamsil World Mall Surge 45% Last Year

Lotte Department Store announced on the 10th that it will showcase the K-fashion brand ‘The Barnet’ popup store at Jamsil Lotte World Mall, becoming the first domestic retailer to do so.


The Barnet, launched in 2021, is a casual brand recently recognized as trendy among customers in their 20s and 30s. It is characterized by timeless classic designs. Recently, it held a popup store at the Isetan Department Store located in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan, recording sales of 300 million KRW in one week.

The popup store will be held on the B1 floor of Jamsil Lotte World Mall. It will exclusively unveil over 200 products, including bags, hats, and accessories, as well as new spring and summer items for this year. Representative products include the ‘Work Jacket,’ ‘Zip-up Knit,’ and ‘Ball Cap.’ The store has enhanced convenience by providing a total of four fitting rooms so that visitors can freely browse and try on products.


This popup by Lotte Department Store takes into account the increasing number of foreign customers. Jamsil Lotte World Mall has steadily introduced K-fashion brands such as ‘Ader Error,’ ‘Mardi Mercredi,’ and ‘Imiss,’ establishing itself as a representative shopping destination in Seoul among overseas tourists. In fact, last year, sales to foreign customers at Jamsil Lotte World Mall increased by approximately 45%.


As this is the first domestic popup store, a variety of events and benefits have been prepared. First, customers who make a purchase will receive a photo booth voucher to commemorate their visit to the popup store. Additionally, on weekends, customers who purchase over 50,000 KRW on the day will receive fresh flowers on a first-come, first-served basis. Furthermore, customers who purchase over 400,000 KRW will be given a limited quantity of shoulder bags, offering a diverse range of gifts according to purchase amounts.


Yoon Chang-wook, Chief Buyer of Lotte Department Store’s Young Culture Team, said, “‘The Barnet’ is one of the hottest designer brands among young customers at present,” adding, “As Lotte Department Store continues to showcase diverse K-fashion brands, we plan to lead trends with differentiated content and create synergy effects in the future.”
