Hapcheon County Successfully Concludes Policy Forum with Four Western Gyeongnam Counties (Geoje, Haman, Sancheong, Hapcheon)

The 'Western Gyeongnam Four Counties Policy Forum' held at the Hapcheon-gun General Social Welfare Center concluded successfully.

Hapcheon-gun announced on the 10th that the forum was hosted by the office of National Assembly member Shin Sungbeom and organized by the four counties of Sancheong, Hamyang, Geochang, and Hapcheon, along with their respective sports councils.

Held under the theme 'Sports Business: Shaping the Economy and Welfare of the Region,' the forum was designed to explore practical ways to promote economic and welfare development by integrating sports business into local infrastructure.

The event was attended by key figures including National Assembly member Shin Sungbeom, Kim Yuncheol, Mayor of Hapcheon-gun, Lee Seunghwa, Mayor of Sancheong-gun, Koo Inmo, Mayor of Geochang-gun, Baek Samjong, Vice Mayor of Hamyang-gun, Kim Suhan, Chair of the Sancheong-gun Council, Lee Jaewoon, Chair of the Geochang-gun Council, Jeong Bonghun, Chair of the Hapcheon-gun Council, council members from the four counties, Park Jueon, Chair of the Gyeongnam Provincial Council's Culture and Welfare Committee, as well as provincial council members, Yoo Myunghyun, Director of the Gyeongnam Provincial Industry Bureau, Park Ildong, Director of the Gyeongnam Provincial Culture and Sports Bureau, Kim Gwangseop, President of the Gyeongnam Teachers' Association, and other key officials. In addition, sports-related figures including Yoo Dalhyeong, President of the Hapcheon-gun Sports Council, and other sports council presidents also participated.

The forum began with a presentation by Cho Hongnam, Head of Sports Support at Hapcheon-gun, titled 'The Present and Future of Hapcheon-gun's Sports Business,' followed by Kim Seongsu, Head of Sports Industry at Goseong-gun, with 'Goseong: The No. 1 Sports Industry City,' Professor Kim Miok of Korea National Sport University with 'The Necessity and Challenges of Regional Development through Sports,' Professor Kim Daehee of Pukyong National University with 'Securing Financial Resources and Institutional Improvement Measures for Regional Sports Development,' and Kim Eunyeong, Senior Secretary at the office of National Assembly member Shin Sungbeom, with 'Prerequisites for the Development of Regional Sports Business.'

This forum was significant in that it brought together stakeholders and experts to discuss the importance of sports-based business and ways to promote regional economic and welfare development through it.

Assembly member Shin stated, "Sports business is a key field that can revitalize the local economy and enhance welfare," adding, "Based on the discussions at this forum, Sancheong, Hamyang, Geochang, and Hapcheon will work together to develop practical policy alternatives and do our best to expand sports facilities and establish legal support systems."

Mayor Kim Yuncheol said in his welcoming remarks, "This forum was an opportunity to analyze the present and listen to valuable expert opinions, allowing for in-depth discussion of the direction we should take going forward," and added, "I hope that the opinions discussed will lead to concrete action plans that can bring about real changes in the local economy and welfare."
