Hampyeong County, Jeollanam-do announced on the 9th that the Agricultural Technology Center is continuously strengthening the competitiveness of smart agriculture by operating a smart farm testbed, providing farmer education, and offering expert consulting, along with various support projects to promote the dissemination of smart agriculture technology.
Smart farm refers to a smart agricultural system that utilizes information and communication technology (ICT) to automatically control various environmental factors in agricultural facilities, such as temperature, humidity, and sunlight, enabling remote management of crop growth environments.
In particular, this year, the county plans to implement the "Small-Scale Smart Farm Model Construction Project," distributing smart farm models to four farms and supporting various smart agriculture policies.
Park Sangyul, president of the Hampyeong Strawberry Nutrient Solution Research Association, said, "After introducing the smart farm, the quality of crops has improved and yields have increased. I was initially concerned about the technical aspects, but thanks to the education and technical support provided by the Agricultural Technology Center, I was able to adapt without difficulty."
Moon Jeongmo, head of the Hampyeong County Agricultural Technology Center, stated, "The introduction of smart farms is playing an important role in enhancing the competitiveness of agriculture and increasing the income of farming households. We will continue to expand the distribution of smart farms and strive to further increase farmers' income."
