LG Electronics announced on the 9th that sales of the 'LG Whisen Stand Air Conditioner' from January to February increased by about 40% compared to the same period last year.
In particular, air conditioners equipped with empathy intelligence (AI) accounted for more than 70% of total stand-type air conditioner sales, gaining popularity.
LG Electronics recently launched the 2025 models 'LG Whisen Objet Collection Tower I' and 'LG Whisen Objet Collection View I Pro,' equipped with the AI agent 'LG PuriOn.'
The new products feature an 'AI voice recognition' function, an empathy-type AI technology that goes beyond simply executing voice commands to understand and respond to the user's intentions.
When a user says, "It's too hot," the air conditioner automatically adjusts the indoor temperature, and when the user says, "I'm cold," it changes the indoor environment to be warmer, appropriately responding by understanding the user's intentions.
Voice recognition can be activated using a button on the remote control, and in situations where hands cannot be used, the air conditioner can be easily operated just by speaking directly to the main unit.
LG Electronics stated, "Whisen AI air conditioners can also be purchased through a 'subscription' that reduces the initial cost burden while allowing regular maintenance," adding, "Subscribers can also receive free repair benefits during the subscription period."
