'Stepping on Green Barley at Jungnangcheon' Program Offers a Unique Experience

Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 8th that the ‘Spring Outing Following the Waterway’ event held along Jungnangcheon and Buyongcheon riversides, as well as at the Jungnangcheon Balmul Rest Area, concluded successfully.

Marking the seasonal changes of Gyeongchip and Chunbun, the event organized by the Uijeongbu City Tongjang Association (President Lim Young-guk) offered citizens a variety of programs including ▲relay walking ▲stepping on green barley at Jungnangcheon ▲a small concert, providing the joy of spring days.

Citizens started from the wall fountain near Gyeonggi Provincial Government Northern Office Station and walked a relay-style course of about 4.8 km along the riverside filled with the energy of spring, spending healthy time in nature.

Next, on the riverside walking trail continuing from the left bank pedestrian bridge of Jungnangcheon, the ‘Stepping on Green Barley at Jungnangcheon’ program allowed citizens to experience traditional agricultural culture by stepping on barley sprouts, offering a unique experience.

Additionally, at the Jungnangcheon Balmul Rest Area, a ‘small concert’ organized by the Uijeongbu Cultural Foundation was held, where citizens enjoyed music and had a healing time amidst the warm spring atmosphere.

Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, “I hope this spring outing event provided citizens with a healthy rest in nature,” and added, “I thank the Uijeongbu City Tongjang Association for their dedicated preparation of the event.”
