A total budget of 7.6 billion KRW allocated... Subsidies and support for 69 kindergartens, elementary, middle, high, and special schools
Governor Jeon Jin-seon: "We will discover distinctive projects and support students to receive quality education"
Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province (Governor Jeon Jin-seon) announced on the 8th that it will actively promote subsidy and support projects for 69 kindergartens, elementary, middle, high, and special schools in the region by allocating a total budget of 7.6 billion KRW for the improvement of educational conditions.
Subsidies in the education sector are financial supports provided by local governments to schools and kindergartens at various levels, used for educational welfare and program support, improvement of educational environments, and regional specialized education projects.
As major support projects, a total of 3.942 billion KRW is allocated to 13 projects in the education expense support sector. Detailed projects include ▲ 2.276 billion KRW for universal educational welfare projects such as school uniforms for new middle and high school students and school meal expenses ▲ 669 million KRW for school program support projects including after-school programs in rural farming and fishing villages, school program cooperation projects, and elementary school survival swimming ▲ 997 million KRW for school environment improvement and education support such as education office-local government commuting support projects, school facility installation projects, and dormitory operation expenses. Additionally, 3.45 billion KRW will be provided for 18 projects in the future education cooperation district sector to promote regionally specialized projects differentiated from other areas.
Yangpyeong-gun will provide education expense subsidies until the end of March, and especially plans to actively promote the 'Two Wheels in Yangpyeong' project from April, a regional specialized project linking the bicycle leisure special zone with environmental education, targeting 4th-grade students in 23 elementary schools in the region.
Jeon Jin-seon, Governor of Yangpyeong-gun, said, "Support in the education sector is the most valuable work for students who are the future leaders," and added, "We will support students to receive quality education by discovering various supports and specialized projects reflecting the demands of school sites."
