Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon proposed on the 8th, marking the "117th International Women's Day," that "we take swift action and practice to restore gender equality, which the Yoon Seok-yeol administration has regressed and dismantled."
On the same day, Governor Kim wrote on his social media (SNS), "(Today is) the 117th International Women's Day, and this year's slogan is ‘Accelerate Action,’" explaining that "it means the need for faster and more resolute action to realize gender equality."
Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon posted a message and photo on his SNS on the 8th in celebration of International Women's Day.
He continued, "The administration that started with the pledge to abolish the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, leaving the ministerial position vacant for over a year and thoroughly ignoring gender equality until the end, is nearing its end," and asserted, "To restore the gender equality that the Yoon Seok-yeol administration has regressed and dismantled over the past two years and seven months, we also need swift action and practice now."
In particular, he urged, "We must open a new Republic of Korea beyond discrimination and hatred through inclusion and solidarity," and "Let us act faster for a world where workplaces are equal and daily life is safe."
