Joe Ferrario, USC Professor, and Others Serve as Instructors
On the 7th, Netflix announced that it had operated a 'Masterclass' course for next-generation creators in collaboration with the Korean Academy of Film Arts. This educational program utilizes Netflix's 'Creative Equity Fund.' It provides practical education and mentoring reflecting the rapidly changing content production environment.
This time, the focus was on expanding the creative capabilities of writers and directors and developing film production skills into TV series production. Various elements to deepen storytelling, such as world-building, character development, and strengthening narrative structure?essential components at the concept stage?were specifically elucidated.
Instructors included Joe Ferrario, a professor at the University of Southern California (USC) who wrote the TV series 'Deception' and 'The Flash,' and director Michael Lehmann, who directed the films 'Flakes' and '40 Days and 40 Nights.'
A Netflix representative stated, "We will continuously support emerging creators so that they can develop the capabilities to present new stories to many global fans in the global streaming environment."
