Choi Hong-rim and Han Soo-young have established themselves as cultural and artistic figures with friendly charm and professionalism through long-standing broadcasting and musical activities that communicate with the public. Last year, both were invited as special instructors for the singing class at Hanam Culture and Arts Center, receiving great responses. Hanam City highly evaluated their broad influence and the affection they have expressed for Hanam on broadcasts, leading to their appointment as promotional ambassadors.
Going forward, Choi Hong-rim will promote various cultural and artistic events in Hanam City with his unique cheerful wit, while Han Soo-young will take on the role of conveying Hanam’s artistic sensibility through music.
Choi Hong-rim debuted in 1987 at the 1st University Gag Festival and has been loved for his familiar image through appearances on numerous programs such as KBS’s “Morning Yard,” SBS’s “Good Morning,” and MBN’s “Sokpuri Show Dongchimi.” Additionally, he passed the KPGA professional test in 2001 and has been active as a professional golfer, including appearances on SBS Golf Broadcasting, continuing his activities in various fields.
Han Soo-young debuted in 2009 with the single album “Your Heart” and was recognized for her talent by winning the Newcomer Award in the Adult Ballad category at the 2014 Korea Entertainment Arts Awards. She has been active on many broadcast stages such as KBS’s “Qualifications of Men Choir,” JTBC’s “Hidden Singer” (runner-up in the Joo Hyun-mi episode), KBS’s “Music Stage,” and “National Singing Contest.” She has also demonstrated her musical abilities in various ways, including writing lyrics for Jang Min-ho’s “Route 7,” Na Tae-joo’s “You’ve Become a Dragon,” and the theme song for the KBS drama “Wangga’s Family.”
At the appointment ceremony, Choi Hong-rim said, “I formed a connection with Mayor Lee Hyun-jae while working as an instructor at the Hanam Culture and Arts Center. Thanks to the mayor personally introducing various charms of Hanam City at that time, I grew to love Hanam even more. As a promotional ambassador for Hanam City, which is growing into a global K-Culture hub city, I will do my best to widely promote Hanam’s cultural and artistic charms and help various people discover Hanam’s potential.”
Han Soo-young emphasized, “Hanam is a ‘child-friendly city’ with a safe and well-established educational environment, making it a place where people want to move to. In this place where various cultural and artistic performances, including busking, are actively held, I will contribute to widely conveying Hanam’s cultural value through the power of communication that music holds and help more people love Hanam City.”
Mayor Lee Hyun-jae said, “Hanam City is promoting the K-Star World project on Misa Island to leap forward as a K-Culture hub city and plans to establish itself as a global cultural center. Choi Hong-rim and Han Soo-young, who were appointed as promotional ambassadors this time, are the right people to effectively convey Hanam’s charms. I expect their influence and passion to play a significant role in the development of Hanam’s culture and arts.”
