Seo-gu District of Gwangju (District Mayor Kim Ikang) announced that on the 7th, the 119th Seo-gu Academy was held at Deulbul Hall in the Seo-gu District Office, inviting writer Ko Myunghwan to give a lecture on the topic "How to Work with Excitement for 365 Days."


Ko Myunghwan, who was the first Seo-gu Academy lecturer of the year, is a comedian who debuted through MBC and has been active in various fields such as variety shows, dramas, and musicals. Recently, he has stood out as a writer, publishing six books.

In particular, he received the "Writer of the Year Award" at the 11th Kyobo Bookstore Publishing Awards together with writer Han Kang.


Ko stated, "In this lecture, I spoke about the preciousness and value of life that I realized while standing at the crossroads of life and death after a car accident," and added, "Don't underestimate yourself, and remember that consistency is not just about enduring but about enjoying the process with willpower."


Kim Ikang, Mayor of Seo-gu, said, "Seo-gu Academy has invited renowned figures who are not easily accessible in everyday life, reflecting the diverse cultural needs and social trends of our residents," and added, "We will continue to walk together with our residents to realize 'Seo-gu, a lifelong learning city by your side.'"


Meanwhile, Seo-gu plans to invite poet Na Taejoo to the 120th Seo-gu Academy next month to provide a forum for conversation about literature and life.
