Namyangju City Recruiting Candidates for 'Special Support for At-Risk Youth'

Namyangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Joo Gwang-deok) announced on the 7th that it will recruit candidates for the ‘Special Support for At-Risk Youth’ program from the 10th to the 28th to support the healthy growth and independence of at-risk youth.

The Special Support for At-Risk Youth program provides customized assistance to youths facing social and economic difficulties. Types of support include △Living Support (up to 650,000 KRW per month) △Health Support (up to 2,000,000 KRW per year) △Academic Support (up to 300,000 KRW per month) △Independence Support (up to 360,000 KRW per month), and Activity Support (up to 300,000 KRW per month).

Eligible applicants are youths aged 9 to 24 whose household income is at or below 100% of the median income, including △youths needing delinquency and deviance prevention support △out-of-school youths △youths without guardians or those not effectively protected (including children from low-income single-parent families) △reclusive youths isolated from the outside world and having difficulty living a normal life.

Applications can be submitted by the youth themselves, their guardians, or social workers and youth counselors who know youths in need of support. Applications can be made by visiting the local administrative welfare center or through the ‘Bokjiro’ website. Final selection and support scale will be confirmed after income verification and review by the Namyangju Youth Welfare Deliberation Committee.

A Namyangju City official stated, “We will actively identify and support at-risk youths in the region who need help but have not received support for various reasons, and continue efforts to ensure that youths can grow up safely and healthily.”
