Priority Installation Considered for Key Areas Such as Dongbu Market
Yeondong Police Station in Mokpo, Jeonnam announced on the 7th that it has decided to install 'runway-type crosswalks' to ensure the safe passage of traffic-vulnerable individuals.
The runway-type crosswalk is a lighting facility where LED guide lights installed on both sides of the crosswalk emit light from the ground at night, allowing drivers to recognize the crosswalk from a distance and slow down accordingly.
Yeondong Police Station has been promoting the installation of runway-type crosswalks, focusing on areas such as Dongbu Market, which have seen frequent traffic reports. The installation is expected to enhance safety not only for pedestrians but also for drivers.
Kim Beomsang, Chief of Mokpo Police Station, stated, "We will actively address the concerns of residents and strive to implement a safe traffic system."
