Despite being late for the trial, Somali showed a relaxed attitude, smiling and making a 'sticking out tongue' pose to an acquaintance seated in the courtroom gallery. Additionally, he attempted to enter the courtroom wearing a red MAGA (Make America Great Again) cap, popular among supporters of former U.S. President Donald Trump, but was stopped due to regulations. After the trial, when asked why he wore the MAGA cap, Somali said, "Because I am an American citizen," and added, "Korea is a vassal state of the United States."

At the first trial held at the Seoul Western District Court Criminal Division 1 (Judge Park Ji-won presiding), Somali admitted to all the charges brought by the prosecution, including obstruction of business and violation of minor offense laws. Somali’s defense attorney stated that they would provide statements regarding the newly consolidated cases along with the previous three charges at the next hearing scheduled for the 9th of next month.
Meanwhile, Johnny Somali’s main content involves causing public disturbances in other countries, provoking locals through sexual harassment and verbal abuse, and insulting police officers who respond to these incidents. Since entering South Korea, Somali disrupted convenience store employees’ work and mocked them by playing music and dancing at a convenience store in Mapo-gu, Seoul, on October 17 last year. When an employee tried to stop him, he spilled cup noodle broth on the table and cursed at the employee. On October 12 of the same year, he approached pedestrians holding a bag of foul-smelling fish, and on October 23, he caused a commotion by playing loud music and performing chin-ups and butt dances on buses and subways. Additionally, he sparked controversy by engaging in inappropriate behavior such as kissing the Statue of Peace during a YouTube live broadcast.
