Environmental Cleanup Activity Conducted by 18 Local Institutions and Organizations on the 6th

Taean County in South Chungcheong Province has joined hands with local institutions and organizations to carry out a large-scale cleanup of accumulated winter waste in celebration of the "2025 Year of Visiting Taean."
On the 6th, Taean County announced that it had conducted an environmental cleanup activity in the Taean-eup area, with more than 480 participants including County Mayor Ga Se-ro, county officials, and representatives from 18 related local institutions and organizations.
Participating organizations included Taean County Office, Taean Office of Education, Taean Fire Station, Taean Police Station, Korea National Park Service, Women's Volunteer Association, Eastern and Western Market Merchants' Associations, Korea Freedom Federation, Defoliant Veterans Association, Model Drivers' Association, Association for the Disabled, Volunteer Fire Brigade Association, Village Heads' Association, Saemaeul Movement Taean County Chapter, Taean County Sustainable Development Council, Hunters' Association, and Korea Forest Love Taean County Chapter, among others, adding significance to the event.
Each organization was assigned a designated area, and a large-scale cleanup was conducted at key locations such as Dongmun-ri and Nammun-ri in Taean-eup. A total of 22 tons of waste was collected, and two water trucks and two road sweepers were mobilized to clean the roads, contributing to the creation of cleaner streets.

Meanwhile, this event is part of the "Spring National Cleanup," which runs for four weeks from the 4th to the 28th. The national cleanup aims to promote carbon neutrality and encourage environmental practices in daily life throughout the county.
The county has established its own plans for each town and village and launched a four-week cleaning campaign. In addition, it plans to intensively collect rural waste in conjunction with the "Hidden Resource Search" event starting on the 12th, demonstrating its commitment to creating a clean Taean.
Mayor Ga Se-ro said, "We organized this event to build an image of a clean Taean that people will want to visit again for the 2025 Year of Visiting Taean. We will strengthen promotion among related institutions and social organizations, encourage voluntary participation from residents, and do our best to ensure that this national cleanup achieves its intended results."
