"IBM Partnership Will Accelerate Korea's Quantum Research"
A senior executive overseeing IBM's quantum computing division emphasized cooperation with the Korean government and educational institutions in the field of quantum computing, stating that "Korea is in a favorable position to grow as a leader in the global quantum community through ambitious national policies such as the 'Quantum Strategy'." IBM has previously introduced the 'IBM Quantum System One' quantum computer, to be used for scientific and technological research, at Yonsei University, marking the first such installation in Korea.

He added, "Yonsei University is at the forefront of quantum development efforts and has become the first institution in Korea to introduce IBM's dedicated quantum system on campus. Our partnership with IBM will not only accelerate quantum research in Korea but also contribute to realizing globally useful quantum computing technologies."
He continued, "The Ministry of Science and ICT has embarked on training 2,500 quantum experts from 2023 to 2025, and IBM is actively participating in this effort. Through collaboration among global universities, governments, institutions, and industry leaders, we expect to further accelerate the development of quantum talent and research and development (R&D)."
Vice President Gambetta stated, "IBM will fully support Yonsei University's quantum program. This program is expected to be a strategically important initiative for the development of Korea's quantum ecosystem and will also serve as a representative model of global collaboration."
