Increase in Resident and Daily Population, Reduction in Vacancy Rates of Empty Stores
"Improving Quality of Life for Residents and Revitalizing the Local Economy Expected"
Damyang County, Jeonnam, announced on the 7th that it has been finally selected for the "Regional and Industry Customized Job Creation Support Project" hosted by Jeonnam Province, in collaboration with the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Jeonnam Provincial University.
The Regional and Industry Customized Job Creation Support Project is a program by Jeonnam Province that helps foster startups suited to local and industrial characteristics through full-cycle customized education for entrepreneurs, operation of a residential Startup Academy, and one-on-one personalized consulting, based on cooperation with local employment-related organizations and groups.
This year, the county plans to discover six new entrepreneurs and provide them with startup support funds. On the 4th, it signed an agreement with the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Jeonnam Provincial University and will carry out various programs such as identifying prospective entrepreneurs and operating startup camps until the end of the year to encourage the influx of new entrepreneurs.
The county expects these efforts will greatly contribute to revitalizing the local economy by increasing both the resident and daily population and alleviating vacancy rates through the utilization of empty stores.
Jeong Gwangseon, Acting County Governor, emphasized, "With our selection for this project, we expect to provide residents with opportunities for employment and entrepreneurship, thereby improving the quality of life for local residents and revitalizing the regional economy. We will continue to focus on activating the local economy through ongoing job creation programs."
Meanwhile, last year, the county discovered eight new entrepreneurs through the same project, achieved results in supporting startups utilizing empty stores, and created jobs by hiring new local personnel.
