The KOSPI index is declining on the morning of the 7th due to buying pressure from foreigners and institutions.
As of 10:18 AM, the KOSPI was trading at 2567.03, down 9.13 points (0.35%) from the previous day. The index started the day at 2553.44, down 22.72 points (0.88%), but the decline has been narrowing. Currently, foreigners are selling stocks worth 132.6 billion KRW, and institutions are selling stocks worth 47.2 billion KRW. Individuals are buying stocks alone worth 153 billion KRW.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, POSCO Holdings (4.74%), LG Energy Solution (1.50%), KB Financial Group (0.38%), and Samsung Electronics Preferred (0.33%) are rising. On the other hand, Meritz Financial Group (-4.72%), Kakao (-2.77%), Samsung Biologics (-2.21%), NAVER (-1.83%), SK Hynix (-1.30%), Shinhan Financial Group (-1.29%), and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries (-1.02%) are declining.

By sector, metals (1.97%), chemicals (1.50%), construction (1.14%), and medical precision (0.97%) sectors are rising. Conversely, pharmaceuticals (-1.47%), insurance (-1.22%), finance (-1.14%), information technology (IT) services (-1.07%), and telecommunications (-0.79%) sectors are declining.
On the 6th (local time), in the New York stock market, the blue-chip-focused Dow Jones Industrial Average (Dow) closed at 42,579.08, down 427.51 points (0.99%) from the previous trading day. The large-cap-focused S&P 500 index closed at 5,738.52, down 104.11 points (1.78%). The tech-heavy Nasdaq index plunged 483.48 points (2.61%) to close at 18,069.26, falling 10% from its recent peak.
At the same time, the KOSDAQ index recorded 737.44, up 2.52 points (0.34%) from the previous session. The index started the day at 729.43, down 5.49 points (0.75%), but then turned to an upward trend. Foreigners and individuals bought stocks worth 32.4 billion KRW and 1.5 billion KRW, respectively. Institutions sold stocks worth 23 billion KRW.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samchundang Pharmaceutical (4.05%), PharmaResearch (3.31%), Voronoi (3.35%), SM Entertainment (3.31%), Lino Industrial (3.21%), EcoPro BM (2.92%), HPSP (1.96%), and EcoPro (1.53%) are rising. On the other hand, PharmaResearch (-3.08%), Hugel (-2.69%), Classys (-2.18%), Enchem (-1.05%), and Pearl Abyss (-0.63%) are declining.
