KB Financial Group Signs MOU with GSMA to Strengthen Strategic Collaboration in ICT and Finance Sectors

On the 5th (local time), KB Financial Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the GSM Association (GSMA), the organizer of the world's largest mobile telecommunications exhibition, Mobile World Congress (MWC), in Barcelona, Spain, to establish a business cooperation relationship in the ICT and financial sectors.

The signing ceremony was held to strengthen mutual cooperation between the two organizations for digital financial innovation and the advancement of mobile technology. Sarah Wiggins, Vice President of GSMA, and Lee Chang-kwon, Head of Digital and IT at KB Financial Group, attended the event.

GSMA is an international industry association comprising major global mobile operators and related companies. It supports the continuous growth and development of the global mobile telecommunications industry and contributes to providing innovative mobile services to consumers. Through the annual MWC event, GSMA announces the latest technologies and innovative services in the telecommunications and ICT industries, playing a key role in mobile technology, policy, and development.

This year, KB Financial participated in MWC 2025 with a total of 25 members, including Chairman Yang Jong-hee, Outside Director Choi Jae-hong, Head of Digital and IT Lee Chang-kwon, Head of Global Business Division Lee Jae-geun, and digital and AI-related staff from various affiliates. They visited booths of global leading companies and held discussions on collaboration to identify the latest digital technology trends and discover best practices of global leaders.

A KB Financial Group official stated, "With this agreement, KB Financial plans to provide innovative services such as customized financial services based on telecommunications data through the convergence of ICT and financial services." The official added, "We will continue broad cooperation with GSMA in various fields, including joint conferences and startup incubation programs."
