Report Crisis Households via KakaoTalk Chat
‘Ddokddok Yongsan’ Channel Enables Real-Time Welfare Support and Reporting
Rewards Offered for Reporting Households in Need
Yongsan-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Hee-young) is strengthening the elimination of welfare blind spots and customized welfare support through the operation of the KakaoTalk Plus Channel ‘Ddokddok Yongsan’. ‘Ddokddok Yongsan’ is a KakaoTalk channel created to allow any resident to report households in need of help nearby through one-on-one chat.
Once a report is received, it is linked to the responsible local community service center through real-time monitoring by the district office. After investigation and home counseling, welfare services are provided to the reported household.
If the reported household is selected as a basic livelihood security recipient, near-poverty class, or single-parent family, a reward will also be given to the reporter. In addition, various welfare news such as district projects are provided on the channel home so that residents can obtain information necessary for their daily lives. ‘Ddokddok Yongsan’ can be used by adding it as a friend through the search bar (magnifying glass icon) at the top after accessing KakaoTalk.
District Mayor Park Hee-young said, “‘Ddokddok Yongsan’ is a fast and simple reporting system to eliminate welfare blind spots, and the small interest and participation of residents can be a great help to neighbors in need,” adding, “We will continue to do our best in various welfare projects to create a warm local community.”
Meanwhile, the district is promoting various social isolation household support and protection projects through the ‘2025 Comprehensive Plan for Preventing Solitary Deaths’. These include discovering crisis households through post office delivery workers and certified real estate agents, operating a care system using smart technology, and activating a support center for single-person households. The district plans to continuously expand welfare policies for residents.
