Yeongdeungpo-gu Announces Contest for Gender Equality Realization and Low Birthrate Overcoming Projects... 7 Million KRW Support per Project

Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that it will hold the 'Gender Equality Fund Support Project Contest' until the 12th to promote a culture of gender equality and overcome low birth rates.

This year, support will focus on projects that enhance gender sensitivity and address low birth rates. The contest categories include ▲ Expanding participation in gender equality ▲ Spreading a culture of gender equality ▲ Overcoming low birth rates ▲ Protecting human rights and promoting welfare.

Non-profit private organizations or non-profit corporations with addresses in the district that engage in activities for realizing gender equality, protecting human rights, and promoting welfare are eligible to apply. Applications, including project plans and application forms, must be submitted through the Local Subsidy Management System (Botaem-e) by the 12th. The district will select supported organizations and corporations in March after screening.

The support scale has been increased by 5 million KRW from last year to 35 million KRW, with up to 7 million KRW provided per project.

Last year, various distinctive projects were implemented, such as a business craft certification course and self-esteem recovery program for women with career interruptions, cooking psychotherapy for parents and children called 'Cooking with Mom,' and health management for severely disabled adult women.

Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, said, “We ask for active participation from organizations and corporations so that new and meaningful projects can be promoted this year as well,” and added, “We will continue to expand various supports so that everyone is respected regardless of gender and the low birth rate crisis can be overcome.”
