Promoting "Our Neighborhood On(day)" for Direct Meetings with Residents
127 Regional Issues Resolved Through "On-site Communication Mayor's Office"
Kim Jangho, Mayor of Gumi City, is strengthening direct communication with residents and is set to fully implement on-site administration.
Kim Jangho, mayor of Gumi City, achieved a milestone in expanding dialogue with citizens as the 'On-Dae (Warm Day) Field Communication Mayor's Office,' operated for the first time since the launch of the 8th local government, resolved 127 local issues.
Since the launch of the 8th popularly elected administration, the first operation of the 'On-site Communication Mayor's Office' has resolved 127 regional issues, serving as an opportunity to expand dialogue with citizens.
Accordingly, starting from the 6th, Gumi City will carry out the 'Gumi Mayor's Our Neighborhood On(day)' tour, visiting 25 towns and districts. This initiative provides an opportunity for the mayor to meet with local residents and discuss current issues, aiming to move beyond desk-bound administration and seek practical solutions.
The 'On-site Communication Mayor's Office' operates by allowing citizens to directly ask questions and receive immediate answers from the mayor, breaking away from the traditional one-way policy delivery method. Through this, it has become a communication channel for sharing major city policies and resolving local issues.
During his first visit to Seonsan-eup, Mayor Kim Jangho held a meeting with about 70 participants, including provincial and city council members, heads of local institutions and organizations, and resident representatives, to explain the direction of the 8th administration and major priority projects in Seonsan-eup.
At the event, Mayor Kim emphasized the city administration's goal of 'Opening the Future of Gumi with Achievements through Innovation' and called for active cooperation for regional development.
During the dialogue with residents, various opinions were exchanged on road maintenance, improvement of living conditions, and measures to revitalize the local economy.
Mayor Kim stated that he would actively review solutions to residents' suggestions in consultation with relevant departments.
Mayor Kim then visited the site of the Seonsan Forest Recreation Town development to inspect the progress of the project. He told officials, "The project must actively reflect residents' opinions," and emphasized, "Directly seeing, listening, and finding answers on-site is the foundation of administration that citizens can truly feel."
Mayor Kim said, "With change and innovation as our motto, we have been running tirelessly to prepare for Gumi's next 50 years," and added, "I will continue to communicate directly with citizens and practice administration that finds answers on-site."
