Furue and Austin Kim Take the Top of the Leaderboard
Lee Mihyang in 4th, Lim Jinhee and Lee Somi Tied for 12th
Kim Arim laid the foundation for her second victory of the 2025 season.
On the 6th, at the Blue Bay Golf Course in Zhenlai Lake, Hainan Province, China (par 72, 6,712 yards), she shot 4-under 68 in the first round of the LPGA Tour Blue Bay LPGA (total prize money $2.5 million). She topped the leaderboard alongside Ayaka Furue (Japan) and Korean-American Austin Kim (USA). This marks Kim Arim's second win since her victory at the season opener, the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions, in January.
Yoon In-na rose to a tie for 4th place, one stroke behind (3-under 69). Despite losing three strokes early on, she showed resilience by making seven birdies afterward. Rookie of the Year contenders Lee Mi-hyang and Yoon In-na, along with Rio Takeda (Japan) and Li Shuying (China), who plays on the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour, also joined the group tied for 4th. Lim Jin-hee, Lee So-mi, and Jeon Ji-won were tied for 12th place (2-under 70). Park Geum-gang was tied for 24th (1-under 71), and Ji Eun-hee was tied for 43rd (1-over 73).
