Korea PIM Completes Prototype Development of Next-Generation Autonomous Driving Core Materials

Korea PIM, which is pursuing a KOSDAQ listing, is set to fully enter the autonomous driving market based on its automotive industry references and unique technological capabilities. Korea PIM, the No. 1 MIM (Metal Injection Molding) technology company in Korea, announced on the 6th that it has completed the development of a prototype for a core material of next-generation autonomous driving camera modules.

Korea PIM Completes Prototype Development of Next-Generation Autonomous Driving Core Materials

Korea PIM is jointly developing next-generation products upon request from a leading domestic camera module specialist company. These products are expected to be applied to global electric vehicle companies through a major domestic corporation. The two companies plan to conduct performance tests on the next-generation autonomous driving camera modules using the developed prototypes.

Based on its No. 1 domestic MIM technology, Korea PIM plans to commercialize next-generation autonomous driving camera modules. Since the installation of high-resolution camera modules is essential for the commercialization of Level 4 or higher autonomous driving, existing applied materials must be replaced with aluminum. Korea PIM has expanded the scope of MIM-applied materials to aluminum and secured ultra-precision processing technology for aluminum.

Korea PIM is diversifying its product portfolio into the autonomous driving industry based on the customer trust it has secured while operating its automotive electronics business. Since 2023, it has been supplying core materials for camera modules applied to autonomous vehicles of a leading domestic automaker.

A Korea PIM representative said, “During the automotive electronics business process, we demonstrated our technological capabilities in the autonomous driving camera module field to a major domestic corporation and secured them as a client, and we are cooperating to develop new products. We are developing next-generation camera modules to advance autonomous driving technology for global electric vehicle companies, and recently completed the production of prototypes and delivered them to a major domestic corporation.”

He added, “Since aluminum-based MIM technology has almost no mass production cases worldwide, it is expected that sales of new autonomous driving camera module products will greatly expand upon commercialization. In addition to the major domestic corporation to which we supplied prototypes this time, we are cooperating with most domestic companies in the autonomous driving industry, and based on this, we will maximize our global autonomous driving market penetration.”

On the 4th, Korea PIM announced that the effectiveness of the securities registration statement (equity securities) submitted on the 14th of last month has taken effect. Korea PIM will finalize the public offering price after a demand forecast from the 17th to the 21st of this month. General subscription will take place over two days from the 25th to the 26th of the same month. The scheduled KOSDAQ listing date is April 4. The lead underwriter is IBK Investment & Securities.
