A Total of 3 Million KRW Support Starting This Month
Yeongam County, South Jeolla Province (Governor Woo Seunghee) is implementing the "Support Project for Settlement of New and Reemployed Workers in the Shipbuilding Industry" by investing 300 million KRW together with South Jeolla Province.
According to the county on the 6th, this project aims to resolve instability in the supply and demand of shipbuilding workers and to encourage local employment of domestic workers. It is a system that supports the settlement of workers in related industries in the region.
As of January 1 last year, newly employed workers who have moved to Yeongam County and reemployed workers with more than two years of experience in the shipbuilding industry will receive 250,000 KRW per month for up to 12 months, totaling 3 million KRW, starting from March this year. However, support will be discontinued if the worker resigns or moves to another region during the period.
Applications for participation in the project can be made by the employee or a delegate at the Yeongam County Business Support Division, either in person or by fax, after referring to the required documents listed in the public notice section of the Yeongam County website. Delegates must bring the necessary authorization documents and contact the office in advance when applying by fax.
Kim Myungseon, head of the Business Support Division, said, "We hope for a lot of interest and participation in this project, which is a win-win-win for increasing the population of Yeongam County, revitalizing the shipbuilding industry, and supporting employees."
