Up to 300,000 KRW per Year
50,000 KRW per Case for Gijang-gun Residents Who Report Households Selected for Basic Livelihood Security
Busan Gijang-gun (Governor Jeong Jong-bok) is promoting the ‘Welfare Crisis Household Reporting Reward Program’ to support welfare crisis households and eliminate welfare blind spots.
The ‘Welfare Crisis Household Reporting Reward’ is a system where any Gijang-gun resident who reports a welfare crisis household in need of support due to a crisis situation to the Eup/Myeon Administrative Welfare Center receives an appropriate reward. This program has been in effect since May last year to detect households in welfare blind spots early and increase residents' awareness.
The reporting targets are households with no income or in crisis situations due to reasons such as ▲unemployment ▲business closure ▲illness ▲disability, and the resident registration must be in Gijang-gun.
Anyone who is a Gijang-gun resident can report by visiting the Eup/Myeon Administrative Welfare Center, calling, or using the Welfare Crisis Alert app. However, mandatory reporters under the Social Security Benefits Act, public officials, and the crisis household members and their relatives are excluded from receiving rewards.
If a resident reported as a crisis household is selected as a basic livelihood security recipient for living, medical, housing, or education support, the resident who reported the household will receive a reward of 50,000 KRW per case. However, the annual reward limit per reporter is capped at 300,000 KRW.
Governor Jeong Jong-bok said, “I hope the Welfare Crisis Household Reporting Reward system will serve as an opportunity for neighbors to pay more attention to each other,” and added, “We will do our best to establish a thorough welfare safety net and eliminate welfare blind spots.”
