Jeollanam-do expressed deep regret regarding the recent investigation results announced by the Jeollanam-do Provincial Police Agency concerning the improper execution of office management expenses. The province also stated its intention to take this matter very seriously.

Jeollanam-do plans to use this incident as an opportunity to establish and implement thorough improvement measures related to budget execution, aiming to foster a higher standard of integrity within the public service culture.

However, for cases where items were purchased for official duties such as provincial events or department operations but were misclassified under the wrong budget category, the province intends to actively clarify the circumstances to the investigative authorities.

In cases where personal misconduct is confirmed, Jeollanam-do will respect the decisions of the investigative authorities and take appropriate action in accordance with relevant laws and principles.

Jeollanam-do has established a triple management system involving the using department, accounting department, and audit department for item purchases, thereby completely overhauling improper practices related to the execution of office management expenses and building a transparent accounting system that meets the expectations of its residents.

Through these efforts, public officials are encouraged to uphold a higher sense of integrity and strive to realize a trustworthy provincial administration.
