According to Yangju City on the 6th, the event held on the 5th was attended by about 30 people, including Mayor Kang Su-hyun, Vice Mayor Kim Jeong-min, related senior officials, and the City Administration Innovation Advisory Committee, who listened to the feasibility study report by the ‘Gyeonggi Research Institute.’
According to the final report based on nine months of in-depth research by Researcher Lee Jang-wook of the Gyeonggi Research Institute, the feasibility study results for the establishment plan of the ‘Yangju Cultural Tourism Foundation’ received positive evaluations of ‘feasible’ in 11 categories, including ▲appropriateness of investment and projects ▲feasibility of the establishment plan ▲expected effects.
This signifies that a solid foundation has been established to systematically utilize the city’s abundant cultural and tourism resources, which is expected to be an important turning point for revitalizing the local economy and enhancing the city’s brand value.
Yangju City plans to gradually proceed with procedures such as the second establishment review by Gyeonggi Province, ordinance enactment and promulgation, establishment of articles of incorporation, consent for endowment, recruitment and appointment of executives, and securing budgets to establish the foundation.
Additionally, reflecting various opinions presented at this report meeting, the feasibility study results will be disclosed on the ‘Yangju City Hall website,’ and through collecting citizens’ opinions, the city will embark on the phased promotion of the ‘Cultural Tourism Foundation’ establishment.
Mayor Kang Su-hyun said, “Yangju is a city with rich history and outstanding natural scenery, and now it is time to secure new growth engines where culture and tourism are harmonized,” adding, “We will devote ourselves to ensuring that the Yangju Cultural Tourism Foundation becomes a leading institution driving this change.”
