Park Hyunkyung Cup Golf Championship Opens at Gochang CC on the 17th

About 80 Amateur Golfers to Participate
Park Hyun-kyung is hosting an amateur tournament in her hometown under her own name.
Park Hyun-kyung and the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Golf Association announced on the 6th that they will co-host the Park Hyun-kyung Cup Amateur Golf Championship for two days on the 17th and 18th at Gochang Country Club in Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk. Park Hyun-kyung was born and raised in Iksan, Jeonbuk, where she attended high school. She said, "I am happy to hold a golf tournament bearing my name in Jeonbuk, where I was born and raised," adding, "I wanted to be of some help to junior players who are my hometown and golf juniors."
About 80 amateur golf players from the elementary, middle, and high school divisions will participate in the tournament. Winners in each division will receive prizes provided by Park Hyun-kyung’s sponsors, Mediheal, Paris Gates, and Bridgestone. Depending on their performance, points will be awarded for selection to the Jeonbuk team for the 106th National Sports Festival, recommendation points from the Bacchus Cup Jeonbuk Golf Association, and selection points for the Jeonbuk team for the 54th National Youth Sports Festival.
Park Hyun-kyung has won a total of seven titles on the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) Tour, including two major championships. She will participate in the Blue Canyon Ladies Championship, the first tournament of the 2025 KLPGA Tour season, held for four days from the 13th in Phuket, Thailand. After the tournament, she will return home and personally encourage the junior players at the awards ceremony on the 18th.
