On the 6th, during the Korea-US joint military exercises, an explosion presumed to be caused by a military bomb misfire occurred at a private residence in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province, injuring seven people.
According to the Fire Agency, a report of an explosion in Nogok-ri, Idong-myeon, Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi Province, was received at around 10:05 a.m. that day. The fire department issued Response Level 1 at 10:13 a.m. and lifted it about 30 minutes later at 10:47 a.m.
The cause of the explosion is presumed to be a fighter jet bomb misfire during military training. The Ministry of National Defense is investigating the exact cause.
As of 11:30 a.m., three people have sustained serious injuries and four have minor injuries from the explosion. There are no patients in cardiac arrest or unconscious.
Two households, part of a church, and a 1-ton cargo vehicle were also damaged.
The fire authorities deployed 78 personnel and 23 pieces of equipment to the scene.
