Park Kyungseok, Air Force Medical Director, Joins Gwangju 30th Nanum Leader

Donates Entire 2 Million KRW Prize from the 2024 Korea Talent Award
Becomes the 30th Gwangju Nanum Leader
Prize Money Supports Local Hearing-Impaired Community

Park Kyungseok, Air Force Medical Director, Joins Gwangju 30th Nanum Leader Kyungseok Park, Head of the Medical Office at the Air Force 1st Fighter Wing Medical Unit, donated the 2 million won prize money he received from the '2024 Korea Talent Award' and joined as the 30th Sharing Leader in Gwangju. Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Park Cheolhong, hereinafter referred to as Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae) announced on the 6th that Park Kyungseok, Chief Medical Officer at the Air Force 1st Fighter Wing Medical Squadron, donated the 2 million KRW prize money he received from the '2024 Korea Talent Award' and joined as the 30th Gwangju Nanum Leader.


New Nanum Leader Park Kyungseok is a medical specialist serving in the Air Force 1st Fighter Wing.


He is conducting research to provide low-cost treatments such as drug therapy and gene therapy, instead of expensive procedures like hearing aid implantation and cochlear implantation. He has also published a total of 10 papers as the first author and has received awards such as the 'Proud Medical Personnel Award' from the Armed Forces Medical Command and the 'Gyewoncheol Award' from the Air Force Headquarters for his academic contributions and volunteer work within the military.


This time, he donated the 2 million KRW prize money he received from participating in the '2024 Air Force Startup Competition' to 'Sarangui Dalpaengi,' an organization supporting people with hearing impairments, practicing sharing within the local community.


New Nanum Leader Park Kyungseok said, "Currently, I am serving as an otolaryngology specialist in Gwangju, and I have always wanted to donate meaningful money, such as prize money, to neighbors in need." He added, "Recently, many residents of Gwangju and Jeonnam have been emotionally hurt due to the Jeju Air accident, and I hope this prize money can be of some help to those in need in Gwangju during this difficult time."


Park Heungcheol, Secretary General of Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae, stated, "As you have delivered such meaningful prize money, we will use it to support neighbors in need within the local community," and added, "Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae will continue to do its best to create a warm and caring community."
