‘How to Respond to Trump’s Tariff Barriers’ Ministry of Justice Holds Seminar

The Ministry of Justice held a legal seminar on the 6th, in collaboration with the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the World Bank, focusing on strategies to respond to tariff regulations under the Trump administration. About 150 businesspeople pursuing overseas expansion participated.


The theme of this seminar was "Changes in the Global Regulatory Environment and Response Strategies for Our Companies." It addressed response strategies to major regulations rapidly changing since the launch of the second Trump administration, including tariffs, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), and the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Approximately 150 stakeholders attended the seminar, including Acting Minister of Justice Kim Seok-woo, Vice Chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry Park Il-jun, Lisa Miller, Director of the Integrity Vice Presidency (INT) at the World Bank, and representatives of domestic small and medium-sized enterprises.


In his opening remarks, Acting Minister Kim Seok-woo said, "The turbulent period of global regulations marked by uncertainty can be a greater opportunity for innovation and leap forward for our prepared companies," and added, "The Ministry of Justice will continue to support our companies to grow steadily in the global market."


Park Il-jun, Executive Vice Chairman, stated, "Legal risks in the global market have emerged as a key factor determining corporate survival," and said, "The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry will continue to support lowering legal barriers faced by our companies during overseas expansion and creating a stable business environment in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice."
