According to the 'Popular Tourist Destinations by Generation' analyzed by the Korea Tourism Data Lab, as of January this year, Hwangsan Park was the most popular travel destination among those aged 60 and over in the past three months, with a visit increase rate reaching an impressive 517%.

This data indicates that Hwangsan Park is gaining recognition as a new travel spot among travelers in their 60s who have already experienced various major domestic tourist sites.

Additionally, in the 'Gyeongnam Tourism Trends and Issues' recently announced by the Gyeongnam Tourism Foundation, Hwangsan Park ranked first with an overwhelming 203.42% increase in navigation search volume from October to December last year, establishing itself as a representative tourist destination in Gyeongnam.

Currently, Hwangsan Park offers a variety of attractions including a wildflower garden, camping site, dock, bicycle paths, baseball field, soccer field, RC car racing track, mini train, and outdoor stage, along with various events such as the Mulgeum Cherry Blossom Festival, Egg Festival, Chrysanthemum Festival, and Film Festival.

Especially since the 8th elected administration, the park has expanded family-friendly facilities such as the three types of relaxation spots (fire-mong, water-mong, forest-mong), a 1.4 km long yellow soil trail, an additional 50 camping sites, and children's playgrounds, receiving positive responses from family visitors. Alongside this, the park golf course is undergoing expansion from the existing 36 holes by adding 54 more holes to reach a total of 90 holes. In May, it plans to host the Presidential National Park Golf Tournament, with about 1,000 players participating nationwide.

Furthermore, to establish K-Park Golf, plans are underway to localize equipment, manage courses in an eco-friendly manner, and standardize park golf etiquette manuals, aiming to operate as a true sanctuary for park golf.

Moreover, Yangsan City plans to conduct a full review of constructing an elevated access road to dramatically improve transportation conditions to Hwangsan Park, as part of the 'Tomorrow's City Mulgeum, One-Stop Life' Mulgeum vision announced in January this year.

In addition, the Hwangsan Regional Garden project, with an investment of 6 billion KRW, and the Nakdong Sunset Bike Park project, scheduled to receive 16.7 billion KRW including national funds, are planned for completion between 2027 and 2028. Another key project for Hwangsan Park under consideration includes the establishment of an integrated water sports center and the creation of an artificial lake park.

Mayor Na Dong-yeon stated, “It has been confirmed through various recent statistics that Yangsan Hwangsan Park is establishing itself as a representative tourist destination in Gyeongnam,” adding, “We will nurture Hwangsan Park, the symbol of Mulgeum and the face of Yangsan, as a natural, historical, and cultural resource linked with the Nakdong River, making it the nation’s top healing space.”
