Medical AI company Lunit announced on the 6th that it has signed a contract to supply its chest X-ray AI image analysis solution, 'Lunit Insight CXR,' to 'Sulaiman Al-Habib Medical Group (HMG),' the largest private healthcare institution in Saudi Arabia.

HMG is a large-scale private healthcare institution operating more than 20 medical facilities in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, and other countries. It is leading the digital transformation of the Middle Eastern healthcare sector by spearheading the adoption of digital medical solutions.

This contract is the second agreement between Lunit and HMG following the supply contract for 'Lunit Insight MMG' signed last year. Over three years, more than one million chest X-ray images are expected to be analyzed through Lunit's solution. The significance lies in the fact that HMG, after directly verifying the clinical effectiveness of Lunit's AI solution and the reduction of medical staff workload through the first contract, decided to make additional purchases of other products.

Notably, last year Lunit achieved its first success in the public healthcare sector by participating in the Saudi government's national project 'Vision 2030,' specifically the 'SEHA Virtual Hospital' project. Following this, through two contracts with HMG, Lunit has proven its reliability and is expanding its presence throughout Saudi Arabia.

Seobum Seok, CEO of Lunit, stated, "The Middle East region has a strong need for digitalization of medical infrastructure, and it is a strategically very important market with active government-level investments. The additional contract with HMG reaffirms the local trust in Lunit's AI technology, company, and products. We will continue to actively expand cooperation with healthcare institutions and governments in the Middle East."

Meanwhile, according to global market research firm Market and Data, the Saudi medical AI market is expected to grow rapidly with an average annual growth rate of 27%, expanding from $34.37 million (approximately 49.6 billion KRW) in 2023 to $231.77 million (approximately 334.2 billion KRW) by 2031.
