Feel the Scent of Spring... Enjoy Healing in Jeonnam Jeollanam-do has selected Suncheon Ocheon Green Plaza, Goheung Mir Maru-gil, Jangheung Haneulbit Arboretum, and Boseong Daehan Tea Garden as the recommended tourist destinations of the month. Provided by Jeonnam Province

Jeollanam-do has selected Suncheon Ocheon Green Plaza, Goheung Mireumaru-gil, Jangheung Haneulbit Arboretum, and Boseong Daehan Dawon as this month's recommended tourist destinations, all of which are perfect for enjoying the scents of spring during a stroll.

Suncheon Ocheon Green Plaza is the first place in Korea to create a garden from a large-scale retention basin designed to prevent flooding.

With its extensive marronnier forest, earthing trail (barefoot walking), and vast lawns, it offers a relaxing space to enjoy nature even in the heart of the city.

Pets are allowed, making it a healing travel destination not only for local residents but also for visitors.

From March 29 to April 4, the "2025 Suncheon Gourmet Week" will be held for seven days at Suncheonman National Garden.

Here, visitors can enjoy Suncheonman's gourmet cuisine through cooking experiences, garden picnics, and food shows by famous chefs.

There are many restaurants where you can taste traditional Korean set meals and fresh spring vegetable dishes made with local ingredients such as clams, fiddler crabs, and glasswort grown in the Suncheonman mudflats. You can experience Suncheon's culinary culture while enjoying a walk.

Goheung Mireumaru-gil is a walking trail perfect for healing while taking in the beautiful scenery of the Dadohae. Walking along the 4km coastal trail, you can visit famous spots on the eastern side of Goheung, including Palyeong Bridge, Yongbawi (Dragon Rock), Yonggul (Dragon Cave), Mongdol Pebble Beach Trail, Goheung Space Launch Observatory, and Namyeol Sunrise Beach.

You can also enjoy a gourmet trip with various seasonal dishes such as rice cake soup made with maesaengi harvested from the clean waters of Geogeumdo in Goheung, and saejogae shabu-shabu made with spinach and saejogae (pen shell clams) that have grown strong in the winter winds.

Jangheung Haneulbit Arboretum is the eighth private garden designated by Jeollanam-do. Covering about 100,000 square meters, it features a cypress forest, ecological pond, glamping site, and various other facilities.

With over 300 species of trees and more than 1,000 species of wildflowers and herbaceous plants, visitors can enjoy a variety of experiences such as planting flower trees with children, barefoot walking in the cypress forest, and forest bathing.

Jangheung Hanwoo Samhap, a representative dish of Jangheung, is a health food enjoyed with Korean beef, shiitake mushrooms, and pen shell adductor muscles. Pen shells produced in the Deukryangman aquaculture complex in Jangheung are especially tender and soft. You can taste pen shell sashimi and grilled pen shell at Jangheung Pen Shell Street.

Boseong Daehan Dawon is a place where vast green tea fields and a beautiful cedar garden harmonize, making it an ideal spot for a stroll while enjoying the refreshing scent of green tea carried by the breeze.

Various desserts made with green tea, such as ice cream, affogato, and bingsu, continue to be popular among tourists.

Boseong Nokdon, a local delicacy, is known for its low fat content and chewy texture thanks to the green tea components, making it less greasy and especially delicious.

Shim Woojeong, head of the Jeollanam-do Tourism Division, said, "With Gyeongchip behind us and spring in full swing, the weather is becoming perfect for outdoor activities. I hope everyone will enjoy the energy of spring by tasting seasonal foods at Jeollanam-do's beautiful walking destinations with open seas and vast fields."
