The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province has formed a ‘Permanent Traffic Safety Facilities Inspection Team’ to prevent traffic accidents occurring on children’s routes to and from school and at traffic safety facilities.
On the 5th, Suwon City held the ‘Suwon City Traffic Safety Facilities Permanent Inspection Team Launch Ceremony’ at Suwon Sports Complex and officially began its activities, the city announced on the 6th.
The permanent inspection team is composed of ▲Traffic Safety Sign Inspection Team ▲Road Marking Inspection Team ▲Traffic Signal Inspection Team ▲Guide Post and Fence Inspection Team ▲Bicycle and PM (Personal Mobility Device) Inspection Team.

The inspection team includes participants from Suwon City and the traffic departments of four district offices, the city council, Suwon Central, Southern, and Western Police Stations, traffic-related organizations (Green Mothers’ Association, Model Drivers’ Association, Samwoonhoe, etc.), Suwon City Mobility Convenience Facility Technical Support Center for the Traffic Vulnerable, and maintenance companies.
The team regularly inspects a total of 11 types of facilities, including 241 traffic vulnerable protection zones for children, traffic safety facilities, and bicycle roads, and immediately supplements and repairs any facilities that threaten citizens’ safety. They are also prepared for 24-hour on-call duty and promptly take safety measures to prevent secondary accidents in the event of a traffic accident.
Mayor Lee Jae-jun of Suwon said, "I hope you regularly inspect school routes and traffic safety facilities and promptly take safety measures," and urged, "Please do your best to create a safe traffic environment where all citizens, from children to the elderly, can move with peace of mind."
