Resident-Centered Policies Such as "Mind Health Care Service" Receive Positive Reviews

Gangseo-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon) has once again proven its innovative administrative capabilities by being selected as an excellent institution for four consecutive years in the '2024 Local Government Innovation Evaluation.'

Gangseo-gu Selected as an Excellent Institution in the Local Government Innovation Evaluation for 4 Consecutive Years Jin Gyo-hoon, Mayor of Gangseo District. Provided by Gangseo District Office.

Conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, this evaluation targeted 243 metropolitan and local governments nationwide, aiming to strengthen autonomous innovation capabilities and create tangible results for residents. The evaluation consisted of a total of 11 indicators, including participation in innovation activities, field-centered communication, innovation in work methods and organizational culture improvement, and public perception.

The district received generally excellent evaluations, particularly for the projects ‘Mind Health Care Service,’ ‘Kkachi Express,’ and the creation of rest centers for people with physical and visual disabilities.

The 'Mind Health Care Service,' the first of its kind implemented by a local government, received strong positive feedback in the public perception evaluation. Experts visited schools directly to provide mental health screenings and one-on-one in-depth assessments, which was recognized for contributing to the creation of a mental health environment within schools.

The ‘Kkachi Express’ service was highly rated for contributing to the improvement of housing welfare for low-income vulnerable groups. This service supports moving costs up to 1 million KRW per household, helping economically disadvantaged groups relocate.

The project to create rest centers for people with physical and visual disabilities, providing customized rest and leisure spaces according to disability type, also received high scores. In particular, the initiative was noted for reflecting the opinions of people with disabilities and supporting tailored rest and leisure spaces by disability type. Additionally, the ‘Job Fair’ linking Magok resident companies with aviation companies and the ‘Field Communication Meeting’ where the district mayor directly listens to voices from the field were also positively evaluated.

District Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon said, “This achievement is the result of Gangseo-gu’s continuous efforts and the active participation of residents,” adding, “We will continue to communicate more closely with residents and implement innovative administration through bold changes.”
