Starting from the previous day, this event was organized to support the expansion of exports of our semiconductor materials, parts, and equipment (MPPE) in the growing Indian semiconductor market.
In Gujarat, India, five semiconductor companies, including the U.S. company Micron, Tata Group, and CG Semi, are constructing manufacturing lines. Accordingly, the demand for materials, parts, and equipment required for these factories is expected to increase in the future.
At this event, which includes 250 semiconductor-related companies worldwide including India, 10 of our semiconductor MPPE companies will participate in export consultations, seminars, and buyer factory visits prepared by KOTRA. KOTRA plans to support over 70 export consultations, introduce the current status of the Indian semiconductor market and manufacturing projects, and create opportunities for our companies to enter the Indian semiconductor supply chain.
KOTRA plans to continuously discover semiconductor-related demand within India and operate online consultations with our semiconductor companies throughout the year, starting with this project. Additionally, in the second half of the year, KOTRA will continue its support by holding export consultations linked with 'Semicon India' to help semiconductor MPPE companies expand into the global South.
Kim Dong-hyun, head of KOTRA's South Asia Regional Headquarters, stated, "Due to the Indian government's active semiconductor manufacturing promotion policies and global supply chain decoupling, the demand for semiconductor MPPE in India will continue to expand. We will actively support our companies to create more business opportunities in India, a key market in the global South."
