Cosmax and SSG.com Jointly Foster Indie Cosmetic Brands

‘Three-Way Co-Growth’ Model of ODM, Platform, and Brand
Expanding Support System from Research and Development to Production and Distribution

Cosmax, a cosmetics original design manufacturing (ODM) company, announced on the 6th that it will jointly nurture emerging brands with the e-commerce platform SSG.com to discover future growth engines for K-beauty. The strategy is to strengthen competitiveness from early brand development to global market entry, targeting promising indie brands with growth potential.

Cosmax signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with SSG.com on the 28th of last month at SSG.com headquarters in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, to "discover and nurture emerging K-beauty brands." The signing ceremony was attended by Choi Jae-woo, Head of Marketing at Cosmax, and Kim Il-seon, Head of Fashion & Beauty at SSG.com.


The core is to establish a tripartite co-growth model of ‘ODM-Platform-Brand’ based on Cosmax’s all-around support system for indie brands and SSG.com’s platform influence.


As a cosmetics ODM company and indie brand incubator, Cosmax provides expertise throughout the entire research, development, and production process. It plans to support key strategies for growing into a global K-beauty brand, such as know-how in selecting hit products targeting MZ (Millennial + Gen Z) consumers and differentiation through excellent quality.


Utilizing databases accumulated through collaboration with over 4,000 domestic and international clients, Cosmax proposes K-beauty trends and popular formulations that are gaining real-time attention in both domestic and global markets.


SSG.com supports the market expansion and growth of emerging indie brands discovered through Cosmax. It helps brands get on a growth trajectory by providing regular advertising and marketing support, operating customer experience groups, and offering opportunities to participate in major events such as SSG Sale and SSG Day. Previously, Cosmax established an ‘all-around system’ for systematic support in response to the increasing trend of indie brands.


Cosmax plans to actively utilize its global network in the United States, China, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, and other countries to nurture new brands. In anticipation of rapidly increasing demand in the global market, it expanded its production capacity to over 3 billion units earlier this year.
