A Total of 18 Sessions... Theoretical Lectures, Field Practice, and Return-to-Farming Experience Provided
Guro-gu is recruiting 45 participants on a first-come, first-served basis for the ‘2025 Return-to-Farming and Return-to-Village Program’.
The ‘Return-to-Farming and Return-to-Village Program’ provides various information and basic education on government policies and support projects necessary for returning to farming and rural living, helping urban residents and retirees who wish to settle stably in rural areas.
This program is designed for Guro-gu residents or workers located in Guro-gu and runs from April 7 to July 7. It consists of 13 theoretical lectures, 4 field practice sessions, and 1 return-to-farming and return-to-village experience. The tuition fee is 80,000 KRW, including field experience and practice costs.
The theoretical lectures are held every Monday at 6:30 PM for 2 hours at the Lifelong Learning Center (2nd floor of the new district office building), covering topics such as ▲strategies for successful return to farming and rural living ▲crop cultivation techniques ▲eco-friendly farming methods ▲success stories ▲latest agricultural trends.
Along with theoretical learning, participants will practice activities such as ▲planting seedlings of leafy and fruit vegetables ▲making eco-friendly nutrients and pest control agents ▲managing summer and autumn vegetable gardens and crop cultivation at the Return-to-Farming and Return-to-Village Learning Center located in Gung-dong, Guro-gu. They will also visit the Goesan-gun Agricultural Technology Center for a return-to-farming experience.
Those who wish to participate can apply on the Guro-gu Office website from the 10th to the 14th. Afterwards, the district office will individually notify the selection results and education schedule on the 18th. A Guro-gu official said, “We hope that residents wishing to return to farming and rural living will successfully settle in rural areas through this program,” and added, “We will continue to strive to prepare various programs for return-to-farming and return-to-village.”
