Last month in Changwon, Gyeongnam, a woman in her 60s who stabbed an acquaintance with a weapon during a dispute over debt, leaving him in critical condition, and then ingested poison herself, was transferred to the hospital and has been handed over to the prosecution.
The Changwon Seobu Police Station announced on the 5th that they recently sent Ms. A, a woman in her 60s, to the prosecution under custody on charges of attempted murder.
According to the police, Ms. A is accused of stabbing Mr. B, a man in his 60s and an acquaintance, multiple times with a weapon at a motel in Uichang-gu, Changwon City, around 1:30 p.m. on the 5th of last month.
It is understood that Ms. A wielded the weapon during an argument with Mr. B over repaying money he had borrowed from her.
Mr. B was urgently taken to the hospital in critical condition and is still receiving treatment.
Ms. A ingested poison at the scene immediately after the crime and was treated at the hospital; her health has reportedly recently improved.
During the police investigation, she reportedly stated that she committed the crime because she had lent money to Mr. B and had not been repaid.
