Dongducheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyung-deok) announced on the 5th that it attended the 2025 academic year Sadong Elementary School entrance ceremony held on the 4th at the auditorium of Sadong Elementary School (Principal Park Ki-gum) in the district to support the hopeful start of the newly enrolled students.

The entrance ceremony included a greeting from Principal Park Ki-gum, who was newly appointed as of March 1st, a congratulatory speech by a representative of the 2nd-grade students, and a gift presentation ceremony by the 6th-grade students. Parents and faculty members attending the ceremony also joined the event, making it a meaningful time to celebrate the beginning of the new semester and the principal’s appointment.

Mayor Park Hyung-deok of Dongducheon said, “We will continue to make every effort to create the best environment where our children can nurture their dreams,” and added, “I hope that Principal Park and the faculty, working together, will further develop Sadong Elementary School to become the educational hub of our city.”

Meanwhile, Dongducheon City operates the ‘Elementary School Enrollment Celebration Fund,’ which provides 100,000 KRW in local currency to new elementary school students registered as residents in Dongducheon as of the enrollment date to ease the educational expenses burden on families with school-age children. The application period is six months, from the 4th of this month to September 1st, and applications can be made by visiting the local administrative welfare center of the applicant’s address.
