Air Premia "In-flight Alcohol & Snacks Popular... Adding Highball & Bumeokbap"

In-flight Paid Sales Service Revamped

Air Premia announced on the 5th that an analysis of last year's in-flight paid sales service '#Premia' (Shop Premia) sales statistics showed that the 'alcohol' category was the most popular.

Across all routes, the sales proportion by product category was alcohol (25.7%), snacks (24.6%), beverages (19.9%), ramen (17%), combo products (11.9%), and goods (0.9%) in that order.

In particular, alcohol accounted for 32.5% of sales on short-haul routes. Snacks and ramen were more popular among passengers on long-haul routes, with sales rates of 25% and 18.6% respectively, higher than on short-haul routes. Combo products (11.9%) that bundled alcohol or beverages with snacks were also popular, with analysis indicating that prices up to 15% cheaper than purchasing items individually were a key factor.

Based on this analysis, Air Premia revamped its in-flight paid sales service by adding new products and diversifying combo product offerings.

First, the airline introduced the 'Suntory Gaku Highball Can' to its alcohol lineup, becoming the first domestic airline to do so. When ordered, it is served with an ice cup and lemon slice, and is sold at 7,000 KRW with a promotional discount.

For short-haul travelers, meal products were also enhanced. Especially for passengers on the Hong Kong route using morning flights, a cup rice product called 'Bumukbap' (6,000 KRW) was added to provide an additional option besides ramen.

Customized combo products for traveling companions were also newly introduced. In addition to the existing chicken and beer combo and nacho cheese combo, 'Family Combo' (23,000 KRW) and 'Kids Combo' (14,000 KRW), which combine alcohol, beverages, and snacks, were created.

A promotion offering an 'Air Premia Keyring' is being held for customers who purchase combo products. This promotion is limited in quantity and will automatically end when supplies run out.

An Air Premia representative said, "We plan to continuously expand various products and benefits so that customers can enjoy a more satisfying experience onboard."
