Jin wrote, "I regretted that day when finger-pointing and verbal abuse were rampant," adding, "I vividly recall the citizens worried about politics where fairness and common sense retreated amid loud voices from our party majority without reflection in the river of impeachment, and the president and opposition party who failed to cooperate." He continued, "I reflect on my own regret for not protecting Leader Han and on that day which fell short of the expectations of party members and citizens who supported us with strength during the harsh summer weather," recalling the time when the 'Han Dong-hoon leadership' resigned en masse.
Jin, who was known to have left the pro-Han faction following his resignation as a Supreme Council member, hinted at rejoining by posting a photo taken with former Representative Han last January, saying, "I will also think only of the country and move forward together." Jin Jong-oh Facebook
Earlier, on December 14 last year, immediately after the passage of the impeachment motion against President Yoon Seok-yeol, protests from lawmakers continued during a party meeting, leading pro-Han faction members and People Power Party Supreme Councilors Jin Jong-oh and Jang Dong-hyuk to announce their resignations. Former leader Han stated he would "continue to perform his duties" and did not step down, but eventually, all elected Supreme Councilors including Jin and Jang resigned. According to the party's constitution and regulations, when four out of five elected Supreme Councilors resign, the party switches to an emergency committee system. Jin, who was known to have left the Chinhan faction following the Supreme Councilors' resignations, hinted at rejoining by posting a photo with former leader Han in January, saying, "I will also think only of the country and go together."
Meanwhile, former leader Han held a book concert in the afternoon at Mapo-gu, Seoul, for his recently published book, Gukmin-i Meonjeoimnida (The People Come First). Jin expressed his intention to attend the event together, saying, "I am going to meet Leader Han, the author of The People Come First, who overcame countless slanders, schemes, and conspiracies alone and emerged from great pain."
