Expectations for Tourism Revitalization and Economic Ripple Effects
The 2025 group tourist incentive support program by Goheung County, South Jeolla Province (Governor Gong Youngmin), is making a significant impact in the travel industry.
By greatly expanding the scope of eligible recipients and boldly streamlining previously complicated procedures, the response from the field has been remarkable.

Starting this year, not only domestic and international travel agencies that attract groups of eight or more tourists, but also chartered bus travel operators and schools are eligible for benefits.
The subsidies are also attractive. For day trips, 10,000 KRW per person is provided, and for overnight trips, 30,000 KRW per person is given. The long-standing demand from the tourism industry for an expanded range of support has finally become a reality.
The response from the field has been immediate. Travel agencies commented, "The application process has become much simpler, making access significantly easier," while tourism transportation workers expressed delight, saying, "It finally feels like we are included in the official system."
With practical support measures now in place, the industry is more eager than ever to attract group tourists.
Companies or organizations wishing to apply can submit a preliminary report to the person in charge at Goheung County Office. Detailed information can be found on the Goheung County Culture and Tourism website.
Goheung County expects this policy to revitalize the local tourism industry and generate a positive economic ripple effect.
An official from the county stated, "We will continue to implement various support measures to further attract domestic and international tourists and contribute tangibly to the local economy."
